In Portage Indiana, the real estate market has shown a slight decrease to 235 days on market but also shows that the homes for sale have reflected this in their price. This week, Portage Indiana real estate shows that 29% of the homes listed for sale have decreased their price.

Another factor to take into consideration is whether the seller of the listed home for sale in Portage Indiana is looking to sell for the best price or the best time frame.

While this will be different from home to home, the reasoning behind selling in an overall market can impact the number of days a property is on the market and what price the home for sale will sell for.

Chesterton Indiana Real Estate Recap April 27, 2011 by Jim SimsWhether you are buying a home or selling a home in the Chesterton Indiana real estate market, you will want to know what to expect.

When looking at homes, you may first focus on your essential needs such as bedrooms and bathrooms, garage, yard space, neighborhood, etc.

With all of these in mind, you can summarize the living area with the cost in the area you are looking at with cost per square feet. This takes the median price of the area along with the median square footage to determine what you can expect to pay or sell a particuliar home for.

In Chesterton Indiana, the current median price of $209,900 accompanied with the current median square footage of 1,956 will give us the price of $115.00 per square feet. 

You can then determine what the square footage of the average 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home would be and multiply out by the square footage to figure out what the price range the home would be in.

 As you can see in the chart, the price per square feet will fluctuate but has stayed within a $5.00 per square foot range over the last 90 days in the Chesterton Indiana real estate market.

When looking to buy a home in Chesterton Indiana, you will want to know what the current median list price is and how the home you are buying compares to other homes for sale within the market.

The current median list price for a home for sale in Chesterton Indiana is $215,000. This remained the same from last week but actually increased over the March median sale price.

As you can see in the chart, the median list price fell about $15,000 over the winter months but has shown a steady increase over the last month.

The Chesterton real estate market values in March still managed increase home prices listed for sale in Chesterton Indiana.

Through the month of March 2011, Chesterton Indiana real estate had a median price for home listed for sale of $205,900. The average days on the market decreased this month by 10 days over February 2011.

The inventory level in the Chesterton Indiana real estate market increased slightly from 186 homes for sale to 188 homes for sale in Chesterton Indiana.

This shows that buying a home in Chesterton Indiana or selling a home in Chesterton Indiana is an investment as well as a good life change.
