Upcoming Events from Munster Indiana Parks Spring 2011

Break free of cabin fever with some of these fun activities and outings. Here are just a few of the events. Consult their web site (click the “Recreation” tab) for full information and late schedule changes.

Special Events

Here is a short list of some of the major events sponsored by the town:

  • Saturday February 19, 9am-4pm Winter Arts & Crafts Fair AND Business & Consumer Fair, both events at Munster High School
  • March 5, 6pm-9p  Mother & Son Magical Ball
  • April 15, Great Egg Chase and Community Egg Hunts
  • May 7, 13th Annual Car Show,  AND Spring Arts & Crafts Show
  • May 21,  Cash for Clutter, Community Garage Sale

Golf at Centennial Park

The award winning 9 hole course at Centennial Park opens the season in April with open golf, driving range, youth and adult golf lessons.

Day Trips

Munster Parks & Recreation continues their series of organized sightseeing and shopping outings with a new Spring lineup. Some of these have reservation deadlines so try to purchase your tickets early because they will probably sell out before the event date.

  • February 25, GOLD! Visit the Field Museum Gold exhibit, followed by a visit to the Gold Coast for lunch a Buca de Beppe & guided tour of the neighborhood.
  • March 8, Flower & Garden Show at Navy Pier, Chicago
  • March 22, Walk The Pedway with architecture docent & improv  comedian, Margaret Hicks
  • March 28, Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, Michigan
  • April 29, Horsing Around in Old Town, Chicago
  • May 4, Little Traveler, Geneva, Illinois
  • May 18, Frank Lloyd Wright Oak park Tour

Leisure & Education

Munster Parks & Recreation has arranged partnerships  with local vendors to offer a full lineup of educational classes and seminars for cultural enrichment. Consult with the Parks Department for fees and how to pay.  Here is a list of some of them.
