Chesterton Real Estate Recap - December 27th by Jim SimsWell, the Christmas holiday and came and passed and now we are all looking forward to that 2nd short work week that New Year’s Day brings.

Even though last week was cut short due to the holiday, you would not be able to tell. Last week there were 10 single family homes sold and 6 new homes for sale in Chesterton Indiana.

While new homes are entering the Chesterton Indiana real estate market, existing homes are sometimes taking 6 months or longer to sell. As you can see in the chart, the median price for homes have decreased over the previous months. 

This week the median price started it’s way back up to $204,000. Over the last week, 34% of the homes for sale have reduced the price while 14% have relisted the home.

You can expect to get approximately 1,940 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms on a lot between 0.25 and 0.50 acres in Chesterton Indiana for the current median price of $204,000.

There are currently 201 homes listed for sale in the Chesterton Indiana market. Of these, approximately 50% are listed under $174,950 with 25% priced below $110,000.

Chesterton Indiana has many ammenities to offer such as parks, shops, restaurants, trails, and the outstanding Duneland School System. With home prices where they are, now is a great time to buy or sell.
